Life the Game - or real Life?

Monday, July 20th, 2009

It’s time for everyone to wake up to a few simple yet hard to swallow truths.

The economic system we are living under cannot ever be sustained and will continue to rise and fall in ever increasing waves with ever increasing devastation to the people through poverty, loss, unrest and war. The media is playing its part in generating tension between people on religious and ethnic grounds and the people in their blindness are being led to slaughter by the rich and influential in banking and politics.

No politician is representing you, your community or your focus group. They are simply in place to run the corporation of whatever country you’re in. In Australia that corporation is the Commonwealth of Australia Corp. In Canada it’s Canada Corp. They all answer to the World bank since the inception of what passes for your country’s reserve bank. Democracy has been sold to us through education and media as the protection of rights for the people. In truth it is a corporatisation system that streamlines the flow of money from the working class to the elite at the expense of the working class. We are all part of this game. From farmhand to CEO across the globe. We all play a part in our own enslavement and have been programmed to consume ourselves into oblivion.

When are we going to stop being robots running through our daily programmed routine of wake, eat, work, shop, tv, sleep, wake… with the occasional celebration offering minimal relief?

Why does everything keep getting more expensive? Why do we want so much? Why are we content to have our things whilst 25,000 children die every day? Is this the civilisation we want to hand our children? Can we even call ourselves Civilised? Our children will be joining the death-toll as our consumption continues at the expense of the planet we rely on. All the while the rich and powerful live their lives of plenty and we pay them for the privilege. Insane! No not really – just programmed to be and act and want and consume, procreate, work, get sick from seeing the insanity and die.

Meanwhile banks continue to make profits. Churches continue to gain wealth and 30,000 more children die.

Skyscrapers costing billions are built for those with money. Whilst the workers who build them are paid a pittance. Workers at the Burj in Dubai are paid 800 AED per month (Approx: $270.00 AUD or $220.00 USD) of which they send the bulk home to their families in poorer countries as they themselves live in worker camps (can anyone say slave?). Meanwhile the children are still dying.

We keep on working and watching our own lives and lifestyles come under threat. We worry for our future and for our children. Money is held above all else as it appears to be the only means of exchange for the things we need. It has become our God. We work for it, we hold tight, spend it begrudgingly, withhold it from others. Without it we feel helpless or become homeless whilst the Banks continue to make huge profits. This system cannot be sustained.

Millions of people are waking up to these truths and running scared into some group or other. Some are actively praying for Armageddon hoping that God or Jesus or add your prophet here, will return after the chaos and make it all right again.

I, for one, would be embarrassed to show our world to any deity. What would I say? Look at our wonderful achievements, our skyscrapers and cities, our portable pc’s, we can listen to our favorite music anywhere at any time and we can even fly across the oceans. Aren’t we wonderful! Oh sorry, don’t look over there – they are non-believers and people who couldn’t be programmed. They’ll all die of natural causes like war and famine and poverty. Can I offer you some wine? Bullshit!

We are being conned. What passes for law is nothing more than corporate policy with permits and controls built in at every level. Everything that isn’t specifically permitted is forbidden. We the people are goods and chattel to the powers that call themselves government. We are told they are there to represent the will of the people and to act in our best interest. They act for the corporation and create and enforce it’s statues. Their laws are not laws; they are acts and statues and they are not lawful as they impinge on the rights of man.

There are so many people trying to find a way out of the game. Some are heading to the land to build self sustaining lifestyles and communities. Others are joining movements fighting for our rights and freedom. None of it is working as we allow the powers that be to continue to rule rather than represent the people.

So much information is flooding in via the Internet that people are becoming, overwhelmed, confused and further fragmented. Who do you believe? There are an ever growing number of movements to choose from - take your pick. Zeitgeist, New Age, New World Order, Global awakening, You are God and You are not your Strawman to name but a few.

What do you believe? End of days, Armageddon, the return of the Matrea, Jesus, our Alien forefathers or a New Consciousness and Enlightenment at the end of the Mayan calendar? Or is it merely time to grab the next beer, or drug and switch channels to find another distraction from the fear and pain you suppress?

Wherever you are in this game of life and whatever stage you’ve reached in your beliefs and knowing, the one thing of which I’m certain; is that you will all eventually reach the same conclusion.

The only winning move is not to play.

No one plays tic-tac-toe when they realise this truth yet we persist in playing the game of life as it is today. A game where the rules were written by a handful of rich and influential people and have been refined over generations. A game of finance and money and power and fear. A soulless game. This game has become a way of life that encompasses all and impacts everything and everyone on the planet. It’s a con game. And we are all active participants.

When will we, as civilised people, outgrow our games?

In all aspects of human behaviour we’ve attempted to learn from our mistakes and to do things better yet we persist in playing the game that holds this very aspect of our nature to ransom. Ideas are given a price tag and solutions become commercialised all to support a monetary system that by design is nothing more than a rigged casino disguised as an economy.

It’s been a great game for some and an OK game for others, many others have already left the game either voluntarily or by force, other are still playing and are oblivious to their role in keeping the game running. The children are still dying as long as you play the game.

We don’t need a game or a set of rules written by third parties. How can anyone know or foresee the needs of every player in a game? Who has the right to determine the winning moves in the game of life? For wherever there are winners – there are losers.

LIFE is not a game.

We have never really know Life we’ve just been playing a game.

Life is Love, Intelligence and Forethought for Everything.

Are you ready to stop playing the game?

People are connecting - There is hope!

THE SHIFT Movie Trailer

With all the fear and uncertainty there is hope and action right now.

There are organizations who intimately understand the issues and there are others that are still entrenched in some kind of ism. It’s up to you to choose the world we will inhabit and bequeath to our descendants. Bring consciousness to your choices. Question everything.

Loose the fear through understanding and knowledge.

Connect with the one thing that binds us all together. Life. All life. All living things.

There is an awakening to how connected we all are; not just by living on the one planet, but by shared experiences and compassion that comes from adversity. People everywhere are realizing that real peace starts in the heart of every person and spreads from there. The same can be said for hatred, bigotry and fear.

It’s up to each of us to choose a better way forward and spread the word.

What will we do?

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

It is late in the afternoon on the last day of 2006 and I am about to have dinner with friends where conversation will flow recapping the last year and contemplating the year ahead.

Will 2007 be a Happy New Year?

Will we wake up to the importance of every living being?
Will we unite with others to avoid climate catastrophe?
Will we help to end hunger, war and suffering?

Every minute of every day brings with it the possibility of change.

Will we change?
Will we seek peace and harmony?
Will we work together?

Or will it be another year of lining up for the next great gadget where the purchase price would feed a family for a month or would provide much needed medicine in the third world?

Will we buy another gas guzzler?
Will we support a government that doesn’t represent us?
Will we reach out to those less fortunate and help?

Or will we sit at home lamenting and believing ourselves powerless?

Will we smile at one another as we walk down the street?
Will we even notice if our neighbour stumbles or falls?
Will we offer help if we do?

Or will we simply wait around for someone else to act for us?

What will you do?

I’m Still Blocked but…

Thursday, May 18th, 2006

It’s interesting that the one comment I received on my previous post dismissed my reading of P.J. Eby’s book as Displacement Activity. I can understand how Steve Holden, the author of DA, could interpret what I’d written as just another way to distract myself from my personal situation and the tasks at hand. I’ll also admit to being guilty of DA from time to time, as I’m sure most people are, but in this instance his summation is banal. Sorry Steve - but aren’t you somewhat guilty of DA by reading my weblog in the first place?

So in order to clarify some of my stuckness I’ve posted part 1 of my story. I’ve pretty much left out the gory details and how I felt during this period for the sake of brevity.

You, Version 2.0 is certainly an interesting book!

Congratulations Phillip! I hope you sell a zillion copies.

I’ll be buying a copy as soon as I can. Until then, however, I’ll be reading the on-line version again to go over some of the finer points as there is certainly plenty to think about.

I’m Blocked

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

I’ll admit it - I’m blocked!

Stuck, unmoving, essentially at a loss for what to do - even though my personal to-do list is overflowing.

In my vain attempts to become fluid again I revisited dirtsimple.org to read P.J. Eby’s articles as much of what he has written about, that I’d read, struck a nerve or two so I thought I’d go off and actually read all the articles in the hope of finding some clue to alleviate my own suffering.

To my surprise Phillip has published his articles into a book he’s titled “You, Version 2.0″ which can be ordered from his site.

After a brief detour to consult my bank balance I realised that I couldn’t afford the $29.95 plus $15.00 postage required to purchase the book. The princely sum of $44.95 USD roughly equates to $60.00 AUD. The lack of cash is only one of the symptoms of my stuckness - overwhelming debt and depression are also contributing factors. However, I digress.

As I can’t afford the book I’ve decided to read all the individual blog entries that make it up. To make the job easier I built the following index which reflects the contents of “You, Version 2.0″ with the exception of the last article which alas is only available in the hard copy edition. I’m not sure if the book version and the on-line version differ in any way but I’m hoping there will be enough there to help nudge me out of my stuckness.
